The SOAR Institute

HELPING HUMANS, HELPING HORSES

The mission of The SOAR Institute is to support veterans, first responders and their families in developing strategies and approaches that promote healthy, productive and positive lives, while simultaneously providing off track thoroughbreds and rescue horses with a new, significant career as partners in equine-facilitated leadership and learning. Sells NY Team contributes to the SOAR institute, a not for profit, from every house they close.

At The SOAR Institute, their work is grounded in two beliefs:

  • Life events and choices affect not only the individual who experiences them, but those with whom that person regularly interacts. Our support for veterans and first responders focuses on skills and strategies for developing and maintaining healthy, productive lives – and includes opportunities designed for family members and significant others.
  • Horses have innate abilities that can help humans see themselves more clearly. They respond in the moment, are non-judgmental, honest and benevolent. The SOAR Institute includes off-track thoroughbreds and rescued horses as partners in equine-assisted leadership and learning experiences, providing them with a new meaningful job.
